improved version of the B.II, with modified tail surfaces and a smaller wingspan. However, it quickly became clear that the unarmed two-seat reconnaissance airplanes became too vulnerable to the allied fighters equipped with machine guns that now appeared at the front. It was replaced by the armed C version after a short time. It was withdrawn from the front and deployed as a training aircraft.
